    On this issue, I'm a minority within a minority within a minority: an ethical vegan opposed to pet ownership, opposed to killing one species of animal to feed it to another (e.g., killing cows to make pet-food for dogs), and opposed to surgically altering animals to make them into "living toys" (castration, spaying and neutering, etc.). It's remarkable that so many of my videos on this topic have reached 10,000 viewers because, as I say, I'm a minority within a minority: my views on the issue are unpopular in the extreme. But hey, I happen to be right. ;-)

    Apparently I mixed up the names Siarhei Tsikhanouski & Viktar Babaryka… both of them are youtubers, with similar and overlapping stories (further overlapping with the story of Veranika Tsepkala, wife of Valery Tsepkalo!), all involved in the current election in Belarus… I apologize, I think I must have been misled by confusing reports (in English) that I read in preparing the video (i.e., I mixed up who was married to whom). However, the thesis of the video pertains to Siarhei Tsikhanouski & Viktar Babaryka equally, and I think the points made here still make sense ("still stand") despite the mixup of which husband pertains to which wife (again, my apologies for the mixup).

    Quite a few people (sincerely considering quitting video games, to live a more meaningful life) seem to stumble on this issue of the division between subjective and objective. They presuppose that their own happiness lies in the subjective realm and, therefore, whatever they may do can be neither right nor wrong, so long as it serves their own (selfish, short-term) happiness. And yet this is the opposite of the truth: ethics begins wherever and whenever we're willing to question our selfish, short-term happiness, to see that our subjective choices have objective significance.
