What we're trying to overcome here is not any particular faith, but the desire to have faith: nihilism is not based on a critique of god, but a critique of belief itself. And, meanwhile, "5 Cures For Nihilism" is a video that proposes that Catholicism could be preferable to nihilism… if that's "the cure" I'd prefer to advocate for the disease. I doubt that Lauren Southern herself would get much out of this video, but if you're interested in nihilism generally, or in how it fits into my own psychology particularly, this video may have a few interesting reflections to offer.

It's a friendly, constructive discussion for a while, but then the mood suddenly sours around @33:22 (up to the 35 minute mark). From my perspective, this statement (at this time-stamp) is a very reasonable, down-to-earth statement (that Tibetan scholars only want to work with Tibetan specialists, that Japanese scholars only want to work with Japanese specialists, etc. —and these categories exclude me). But, evidently, this is shocking to hear, when stated so bluntly, to a professor. And, yes, I'm even more blunt in the minutes that follow thereafter. ;-)

The moral position adopted by Joe Rogan is, in fact, very similar to that of Unnatural Vegan: they both support eating eggs from "happy" chickens, and they both put a lot of effort into blaming vegans for "being crazy" (against a very flexible and self-serving standard)… which is to say they both approve of the moral goal of abolishing slaughterhouses and factory farming, but they're not willing to do anything "crazy" (meaning: anything at all) to make it happen. :-/

Unnatural Vegan actually takes a step further than Joe, in that she approves of drinking "happy" cow milk (something Joe regards thinks is not morally acceptable —making him more vegan than U.V., paradoxically enough).

Trafficking in lies and pseudoscience "for a good cause" comes a little too close to religion for my taste: both Mic. the Vegan and Dr. Greger seem to have a very flexible standard for the truth when it suits them (while harshly castigating "the other side" for offering exactly the same sort of convenient lies). And yes, it is especially despicable to lie when you're appealing to human frailty in this way (people with cancer, or even people who've had relatives die of cancer, may be DESPERATE to believe such lies).
